SPARSH Foundation, the charity wing of SPARSH Hospitals, Bangalore
presents ‘FUSION DREAMS’, the ultimate Indo – European fusion
concert, _on _JAN 7TH, 2012 , 6.30PM AT RAVINDRA KALAKSHETRA,
BANGALORE.
This is an Indian Jazz & World Fusion Concert featuring the legend
musician and composer PADMAVIBHUSHAN
DR. M. BALAMURALIKRISHNA and Dr. JYOTSNA SRIKANTH, (Indian Classical
and World Fusion Violinist - UK).
DR. BALAMURALIKRISHNA – the legend needs no introduction as he has
been a hit with masses and connoisseurs alike for the last seven
decades
though many of his contemporaries have retired from active music and
some are no more sadly. What keeps Dr. Balamuralikrishna a sensation is
his clear diction, voice and penchant for new ideas. He is actively
composing and working on many music related projects.
DR. JYOTSNA SRIKANTH a British Indian violinist / composer has been
actively collaborating and experimenting with different global styles.
She is well conversant with South Indian classical, western classical
styles, Indian jazz & World fusion apart from having the rare privilege
of working with many legends in the world of fusion music. She has
been featured in major global music events like WOMAD – UK, BBC Proms,
Red Violin Festival – Wales, British Parliament (House of Commons)
where she performed for the British Prime minister David Cameron.
The other artist line up features artistes from across India and Europe
- Shadrach Solomon – Keyboards, Alwyn Fernandes - Lead Guitar, Keith
Peters - Bass Guitar, Taalis (UK / Austria) – Drums, N. Amruth -
Indian Percussion, Karthik Mani - Special Percussion. So let’s cherish
the orthodox and the unorthodox [music] coming together.
Since October 16th 2009, SPARSH VACHANA, is committed to freely treat
200 children suffering from complex musculoskeletal abnormalities every
year. The Deformities treated include Upper Limb, Lower Limb, hand
deformities and Scoliosis (Spine Deformity). Operating on the children
will be a team of 30 doctors, which includes highly specialized
Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeons and Anaesthesiologists from UK, Rest of
Europe, USA, and India, along with the team from SPARSH. These medical
professionals will be dedicating their time and skills for the cause.
However significant funding is required for these 200 operations to be
conducted. Each child will be given the best of pre and post-operative
care, the expenses for each child is estimated to be Rs. 25,000 to Rs.
40,000. Dr. Sharan Patil & Dr. Chandrasekar C have been actively
involved in this venture. Sparsh has hosted this unique concert to
raise
money for this noble cause.
