Hello,

I discovered SparshUI as i was looking for a multi-touch gesture
recognition framework which could be used by applications programmed
in different languages.

Because the only multi-touch device i have (for now) is an iPod, i
installed OSCemote on it, and wrote a TUIO device adapter for Sparsh
to be run on my laptop (the GestureServer and the applications are
also on my laptop).

I could successfully use PhotoOrganizer (although i had to change the
initial size of photos because of the small screen of my iPod). And I
also tested FingerPaint but couldn't see any gesture in it (only
motions and tap). Did i miss something ?

Lastly i tried to compile SparshTangrams but couldn't find
"ConvoConReaderClient" nor "ConvoConReaderServer" classes in "trunk/
Java/Apps/ConvoCons". Does it requires another version?

Regards,

Aurélien

Aurélien,

Congrats on getting Sparsh-UI hooked up with your TUIO device adapter
and iPod! We'd be interested to collaborate on you with that and
perhaps make it available to other people wanting to use the iPod with
Sparsh. And you're right - there is only one gesture in FingerPaint,
it's a zoom gesture on the stroke size selector. It's pretty easy to
miss if you don't know it exists. Finally, The ConvoCon.... prefixed
things are projects that we used locally - it was for a user study.
As the one who broke the build in the first place, I apologize for the
build problems with Tangrams. You can remove them and the app will
still function properly. You may also be able to revert to a previous
version of Tangrams, if you check it out from the repository. I'll
try to put a fix up in the near future.

Thanks,

Jay

Sure. Here is my source code as an attachment. If GoogleGroups don't
like it, just tell me where i can upload it (or commit it).
