Hey SPARKSTERS!!!

I was supposed to send this out as my "smart" goal for Idea Lab last week, so I am sorry I'm just getting it out to you now!

We all know the basic idea behind the Keith Block Entrepreneurship Contest I think, but just to recap:
Proposals should be entrepreneurial ventures that solve a problem in the marketplace and have a significant IT component. A proposal should have the potential of being a viable and possibly transformative growth-oriented startup company.  (That means us!)

Proposals are due to Sean Beggs (sbe...@cmu.edu) on Friday, March 18th.

Then, on Saturday, March 26th:
We will be required, as a group, to deliver a 15 minute presentation addressing the following questions, as well as include a PPT deck for the audience members.

Questions for proposal/presentation:
  • What is the problem in the marketplace?
  • What is your proposed solution?
  • Who is the target market?
  • What is the business model for the proposed venture (how will it make money)?
  • What is the competitive landscape?

Then we will be presented with questions from the review panel.

These are all questions we have discussed in some capacity before, but can we meet this Friday the 18th after Financial Analysis recitation to discuss them in more detail?  (As well as go over what we did in idea lab this past weekend.)  Then we can divide up the questions and create a Google doc like we have done in the past so we can work at our own pace and then edit as a group.  I'm thinking we should try to get a first draft of the propsal done before Spring Break, but I don't know if that's realistic...

ALSO, if we win the contest it is possible that Spark can become a capstone project next fall!  Woop woop.

xoxo
Rachel

Y'ello!

There is a MAM event for that Nucleus guy at noon, but we could meet before that at 10AM on Friday, does that work?? Can't wait to work on this!

Cheers,
Berger
