I'm having trouble getting HL2 SparkSDR 2.0.33 CAT control working with MSHV 2.71
It works fine with WSJT-X and MSHV works fine with my K3.

I think I had this working some time ago with earlier program revisions but now I'm
not getting any control. Looking in the Spark log file I get errors like:

27/07/2023 07:01:28 v2.0.33.0
1712005 rigctl ->\get_freq
27/07/2023 07:01:28 v2.0.33.0
Rigctrl Unhandled cmd -\get_freq-
27/07/2023 07:01:28 v2.0.33.0
1712005 rigctl <-NULL
27/07/2023 07:01:29 v2.0.33.0
1713033 rigctl ->\set_ptt 0
27/07/2023 07:01:29 v2.0.33.0
Rigctrl Unhandled cmd -\set_ptt 0-
27/07/2023 07:01:29 v2.0.33.0
1713033 rigctl <-NULL

Any ideas please?

Hi Neil,
I'm not sure I've ever tested on MSHV, It appears to be using long forms of commands that I don't handle.  It should be easy to add them, hopefully for the next release.

Hi Alan,

Yes the commands reported in the log file when using WSJTX seem to be a single character.
MSHV supports some of the older digital modes like FSK441 and JTMS which are often better
for 2m meteor scatter.

Hi Neil,
give this https://www.sparksdr.com/download/SparkSDR.2.0.966.win64.zip a go. I added the commands I saw it use on a simple test but there may still be others.
This also fixes recent thumbwheel bugs. I'll try to release for other platforms later today.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for that. Unfortunately my antivirus (Avast) has taken a dislike to it and quarantined the .exe somewhere.
It won't let me copy it back in from the downloaded .zip, despite changing the destination permissions.
I'll beat it into submission somehow, but no immediate feedback for you, sorry.

Hi again Alan,

Managed to get your 2.0.966 version running after updating my Avast antivirus.
I did a few other things too - not sure what solved it. My Avast version was only a month old.

SparkSDR now seem to be talking to MSHV rigctl and commands seem mostly to be handled as expected, so
thanks very much for this update. I don't seem to be able to set frequencies on 13cm and above (with the
appropriate transceiver offset entered) but 23cm and down seems OK:

30/07/2023 08:21:54 v2.0.966.0
1569703 rigctl ->\set_freq 2320065000
30/07/2023 08:21:54 v2.0.966.0
1569703 rigctl <-RPRT 0

30/07/2023 08:21:55 v2.0.966.0
1570691 rigctl ->\get_freq
30/07/2023 08:21:55 v2.0.966.0
1570692 rigctl <--2147483648

This isn't an issue with my current usage, just something I noticed.

I also noticed the HL2 IO board doesn't seem to be selecting the right transverter, but
I know it's early days in supporting this board and it's not related to rigctl.

I still need to try some more things and will let you know if I have any problems.

Many thanks/73,  Neil  G4BRK

Good to hear it is working,  antivirus is causing a lot of pain at the moment.
The 13cm issue will be fixed in the next release.  Have you got any debug info from the IO board to see if I'm sending what is expected?
