I prefer to leave the LO sit in one spot or in other wording, "locked" which means the LO wont shift around if you click on a frequency. As long as the LO is locked you can tune around within the limits of set sample rate. I do not see an option for this. SDR is SDRPlay RSP1b.

I prefer this method too. Could this option be added?
The current method also shifts the band framing. I like to look at the band to see what's on.

Locking the LO would also prevent the waterfall from sliding all over the place. I find as soon as I QSY, the waterfall starts afresh at that frequency, and everything below that loses its reference. For tuning around the band, it would be better if the waterfall sat still so it could build up some history, even as I move around.

Another request would be that if we do change the first LO, the waterfall slides with the spectrum.  a) for the reason above, it would be good to have the waterfall frequency-consistent from top to bottom, and b) there are otherwise valid parts of the waterfall, not visible, which could be brought into view by tuning. They may also have some useful accumulated history.  The same could be said of changing the Zoom. I realise this is a big change of the waterfall, from just a scrolling framebuffer to add a full IF recording that's re-rendered when necessary.
