hi there,
I've just gotten a new HL2, and I'm trying to set it up for the first time, and using a mac, I've decided to download Spark SDR.  However, I use voiceover, which is Apple's built-in screenreader for folks who are blind, and the app does not talk at all.  It appears as though none, of the controls are exposing them selves to the UI_accessibility API that voiceover uses to know what's going on with the screen.  Has anybody worked on making this accessible at all?
THanks,
Justin-ai5os

Hi Justin,
which version of spark are you using?  The accessibility support of the library used for the user interface (Avalonia) has got much better in recent versions, 2.0.975 might work better, if not, let me know.

Hi Justin,
your reply copied here to keep it in the group:-

Hi there,
Voiceover does acknowledge that there are controls there, which is good, but the buttons have no labels so, I can’t tell if I’ve turned something on, or if spark SDR sees the radio.  I know that when I check my router, I see the Hermes at 192.168.1.130, and it does respond to ping requests which is good.
Also, are there some keyboard shortcuts?

Thanks,
Justin-ai5os

Thanks for that, I shall look at making the buttons and other stuff accessible.  I'm afraid there are not any keyboard shortcuts at the moment, it has been asked for before so this might motivate me.  A lot of the controls are thumbwheels that are a sort of more compact slider, I suspect these also don't have labels, they do however respond to arrow and page up/down keys.

Is your mac intel or apple silicon?

Hi there,
My Mac is Apple Silicon.  Are there any native Mac apps that will work with the HL2 in the meantime?  I’ve heard lots about spark SDR
Thanks,
Justin-ai5os

Hi there,
Is there a way to enable web sockets in spark SDR?
I’ve found this project:
I'm wondering if having a web-based interface for the UI would help, if there was a way to enable this via command line, I’d be willing to give this a try.
Thanks,
Justin-ai5os

Hi Justin,
here is a first attempt at making spark accessible, it uses a newer version of Avalonia and I have made the icon buttons and thumbwheels visible to screen readers, it is just a start and very far from perfect but I'm keen to improve it if you have time to give feedback.  The apple silicon version is here

it also supports the latest sdrplay radios if anyone else is interested.
