Good evening folks,
I've been trying off and on to get the 10 receiver gateware (hlsb5up_cicrx.rbf) to work properly with SparkSDR using FT8 as the protocol that I'm attempting to decode.  It appears to show signals on the waterfall but nothing is decoded.

What is puzzling to me is that if I switch back to the standard gateware, hl2b5up_main, I have absolutely no problem decoding FT8.

I've tried tried this on both a windows machine and a Linux machine, exactly the same results.  It's got me stumped.

Anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks for your time.  I've enjoyed this project immensely; Hermes and SparkSDR.

Hi Hans,

Have you set the sample rate to 192kHz in the Radio settings menu? The 10 RX gateware only works at 192kHz sample rate.

And you are correct.  Duh, I read that in the description and it didn't twig!
Thanks very much.  Works a treat!

LOL, this one got me too!

Glad Alan made it easy to update the HL2 gateware, I ended up doing it three times before I read this post!

I had the info about the 192 kHz bandwidth in my notes, but hadn't read the notes in at least six months.

I kept wondering why the waterfall looked good and there was audio, but no FT8 decodes.

Went back to the 4 RX gateware, then thought of something else to try twice, no result till I tried searching this group!

All's good now, except my poor PCs fan keeps coming on every 15 seconds or so.

Thanks!

There was a time when the gateware was changing quite fast so I avoided restricting things that might change next week. I should probably now detect this gateware and set the sample rate and useful spectrum value to avoid this pain.

Yes, I would say if nothing else detecting that the firmware supports 10 RX then checking the sample rate and if it is not 192 kHz then put up a warning suggesting the user change the sample rate would be a good thing.

I tried playing around with hermeslite.py from the hl2 repo lately and it seems to be broken, since it seems it expects the version field to be 2 and mine is reporting 3.  This may be to indicate the firmware can support the new PHY?  I have to investigate more since I think the Python module is helpful.  I was going to use it to update the firmware and once it failed I decided to use your firmware upgrade feature instead.
