Hi Alan,
I am trying to send data to the "build-in" cwdaemon, with no luck. I have tried nc and rigctl. What would be the best way? With netstat I could not see a port 61111 or 61112 listening.
Could that be related?

Hi Thomas,
what os are you on? It is a long time since I added this and have had very little feedback so there could be something wrong. It is a udp port.  I noticed the port number is no longer shown, I have fixed this for the next release, I also suspect it may have shown the port number +1 in some releases. It starts at 61111.
At some point I did have to tweak the rigcntl to behave differently on some linux distros, I wonder if that is needed for this as well.

Hi alan,
it is currently running  on a Raspberry with Buster. It shows "61112" right next to the S-Meter bar.

Hi Thomas,
I suspect if it shows 61112 it is really on 61111 !  I've just tested on 32bit buster rpi and do see localhost:61111 listed with netstat -a so I'm not sure what could be going on.  I'll do some tests to see if I can connect here.

sorry, maybe I used a wrong parameter for netstat or I did not look carefully enough, not it is there:
udp        0      0 localhost:61111         0.0.0.0:*

However, when I send:
echo "dl3el" | nc -w 1 -u localhost 61111
nothing happens (echo "f" | nc -w 1 localhost 51111 would give the correct frequency back)

When I send:
rigctl -r localhost:61111 -m2 b dl3el
I get: "rig_open: error = IO error"

Hi Thomas,
I can't explain this but echo "dl3el" | nc -w 1 -u 127.0.0.1 61111 seems to work but localhost doesn't.
