Hi Alan,
It's been a while since I found something that is not quite perfect in SparkSDR :) So before I ask for a new feature, I would like to let you know that SparkSDR is pretty much the perfect application for what I do with my HL2. The HL2 is mainly my digital station, but also my remote station. I use a bunch of ducktape and baling wire to use the radio from the road for both SSB and CW. I use my phone as the interface. As far as CW is concerned, I am using macros, and 9 out of 10 times, I can hit the correct macro key and not cause a ton of confusion on the other end :)
However, given that MIDI can be routed over a network, I thought about using an Arduino Micro as a MIDI to USB interface so that I can connect my straight key and send MIDI messages over the internet to SparkSDR. This seems to be working but there is big lag between me sending and hearing the sidetone over Mumble, which messes up my sending.
Of course, my next idea was to set the sidetone volume to 0 while I am sending, but found that the side tone volume is not one of the properties I can change via a MIDI message. No problem, I thought, I will just set the side tone frequency, which is exposed via MIDI to 0 Hz and therefore not generate a sidetone. Great idea, but SparkSDR has a limit of 400Hz as the lowest frequency it can be set to.
So, here I am, asking if there is any chance that you can add the side tone volume as a MIDI configurable control some time in the future.
Thank you again for all the work that you put into this great tool to use my HL2.
Thanks,
