You are using the link-local IPv4 address.  That may have changed.  I would use localhost:51111 for the network connection.
That way it will always work on the same machine.

Hello group,

I suddenly find that WSJT-X will no longer communicate with my HL2 when using Spark.
Decoding is fine, but WSJT-X can't access the HL2.

Under WSJT-X > Settings > Radio, CAT control has always used rig as "Hamlib NET rigctl" and Network Server as "169.254.88.27:51111".  I have had no issues with this for the last 7 months but now WSJT-X gives an error message that it can't communicate with the HL2.

Other than the update, nothing else has changed.  Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks,

As an additional suggestion.
Run this command:
netstat -n -a | findstr LISTEN

That should show 0.0.0.0:51111
If that is missing then please try a newer version of SparkSDR.  I think there were some versions that did not restart the Rigctl service on start every time.

Hello Josh,

Thank you.  I copied and pasted your command into a cmd window and got the following:

Didn't see 0.0.0.0:5111.  I rolled back the update, rebooted, and everything worked as before.

I am running the latest version of SparkSDR so seems the problem had something to do with the latest update.

Hi Karl,
not sure what is happening here, does spark say it is using port 51111, it should be displayed in digiu mode. It will use different ports if alredy taken or you have multiple receivers open.  You could try   https://www.sparksdr.com/download/sparksdr2_0_8_6_win64.zip which is the latest test build that did have a couple of tweaks to this to try and improve reliability of cat.  The only other thing I can think of is possible firewall issues.

To clean up the "LISTENING" vs "LISTEN" output you could try running this command:

netstat -n -a | grep "\bLISTEN\b"

Hi Alan,

I tried to download version 2.0.8.6, but the download seems to be corrupted.  I am running version 2.0.7.4 on Windows 10 without issue. Spark is seeing port 51111 after the rollback of the latest W10 update.

All is working fine now.  Also, never had an issue running the latest version of Spark under Linux Mint.

Thanks,

Karl - W5QJ

Hi Karl,
My pc just upgraded to windows 21H1 and I just tried connecting to wsjtx and it worked with no issues, did you ever try upgrading again?
