Hello,

I have SpanningSync 2.1.3 (as I'm still on Tiger) lifetime license,
and do sync to
Google/gCal, and gCal syncs automatically with my HTC Magic's
(Android) calendar.

The fun thing is, some calendar entries show up on the Android
Calendar as
"Appointments" (back-translating from german here, so not sure what
the exact
term would be), editable, and some entries are "Meeting invitations"
that I cannot
edit on the Magic, I can only add/remove notifications.

On iCal both types of entries look exactly the same to my eye.
On gCal, I see a checkbox "Guests can ... edit the entry" that is not
clicked for
"Meeting invitations". When I check it and re-sync Android, I can then
edit
the entry.
Whether an entry is initially editable seems completely random to me.

So, how can I control this when I enter stuff on iCal and then sync
with
google sync ? Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks, Cheers, Tom.

Hello, maybe I can get an answer if I ask more directly and in
short :-)

-> How do I control whether a calendar entry entered on Mac is
synced to Google Calendar (via Spanning Sync) as
"Guest can edit" YES or NO ?

Thanks, Tom.

Hey Tom,

Unfortunately Apple doesn't allow syncing of the "classification"
property for calendar events, so they're all synced to Google as
"public" by default. I'm not sure if this equates to "guest can edit"
or not, but newly synced events will generally just inherit the
default behavior of the calendar.

BTW, this is a many-to-many discussions forum. We try to answer when
we can, but the official avenue for support is
sup...@spanningsync.com .

Thanks

Ok thanks.
Is there a feature request at google that I could vote for ?

Yes, but this way, other people can find your response and don't
have to ask again :-)

Cheers, Tom.

Oops, I mis-stated this slightly. Apple syncs the "classification"
property, but always syncs it as "public".

I don't think Apple reads Google's feature requests :-)
