I have had Spanning Sync for over six months, and it has worked for
maybe 10% of that time. Soon after I got it, I upgraded to Leopard
and it ceased to work altogether. When I emailed for support, having
attempted a fix several times, I was told that nothing could be done
because of the operating system. Now, with the Leopard problem
ostensibly fixed, once again my iCal isn't syncing with my Google
Calendar.

I'm sorry, but to me that represents a near total failure of your
product. Its primary purpose is to sync -- and I can't get it to do
so without jumping through hoops, only to see it stop syncing soon
after. Very frustrating and disappointing.

Logan-

I'm sorry you've had a poor experience. From our support logs I can
see that last April you ran into the "stuck iCal" bug that was finally
fixed in OS X 10.5.3. Unfortunately, this was a bug in iCal, and
although we reported it to Apple and worked closely with them to
isolate it, there's nothing we could do to actually fix it. I'm afraid
users of all sync software for OS X were affected by this.

The good news is that the iCal bug seems to be fixed, and after
resetting your sync history to clear out any bad data from previous
versions, you shouldn't be affected by that bug again after upgrading
to 10.5.3+. That being said, there are a lot of moving parts involved
with syncing iCal and Google Calendar, and while the vast majority of
the tens of thousands of people who use Spanning Sync every day do so
without incident, problems can still happen.

It sounds like you've encountered a different problem, and we're eager
to diagnose and fix it. But in order to do so we need to get some
information from you. If you could create a problem report (Advanced >
Create report) and send it to us at sup...@spanningsync.com we'll get
back to you quickly.

Thanks,
Charlie
