I have 2 computers (tiger & leopard) and one iphone that I would like
to synchronize. Currently, both home and work computers are set to
synchronize via a 'work' account on google. Appointments show up 80
per cent of the time on both computers. 80 per cent doesn't really cut
it when you miss a key meeting, however.

My goal is to have everything (ie, home, work and other calendar
entries regardless of where they are entered) show up on my iphone
calendar and on both home and work computers, but to have home and
other non-work calendars show up as blocked but without detail on my
assistant's calendar (she has access to the google calendar that is
supposedly synching my ical on both computers and on the iphone.

How much of this is possible and at what will it take?

Thanks.

Are you currently using Spanning Sync? If so, we need to get some more
detailed information to try to figure out what some events aren't
syncing. If you can reproduce the behavior where an event doesn't
sync, please do so and then immediately create a problem report
(Advanced > Create report) and send it to sup...@spanningsync.com
along with the exact title and date/time of the event that didn't
sync.

Spanning Sync will do what you want: both your home and work computers
will sync with Google Calendar using Spanning Sync, and you can sync
your iPhone with either of them using iTunes. (You can also sync your
iPhone directly with Google Calendar, but you'll run into some
limitations like the ability to sync at most 5 calendars.)

You can share each of your Google calendars with your assistant and
choose "See all event details" or "See only free/busy (hide details)"
as appropriate. She can then sync those calendars to her Mac using
Spanning Sync.

Please let me know if you have any questions or run into any
problems.

Thanks,
Charlie

Hi Charlie,

I've been able to accomplish the synching across multiple computers,
but my iphone synchs only manually. How do I get the iphone to synch
wirelessly to my calendar? I did subscribe my iphone to the mobile
calendar on my google account.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Deborah,

Spanning Sync doesn't interact directly with the iPhone at all. If
you want the iPhone to sync over-the-air, you'll have to use something
like Apple's MobileMe service, or Google's iPhone sync feature.

Thanks,

Byron
