how to remove spanning sync icon from menu bar

Hi,
I just deleted SS from my system preferences pane and it now shows an
icon in my menu bar. I've tried Command-drag to remove it but it
doesn't respond like the Apple icons do. Any way to get rid of it at
this point? I know there was a checkbox before on whether to show in
the menu bar but you see the conundrum....

Hi Sean,

The uninstaller should take care of that sort of thing. Did you run
the uninstaller or did you remove it by hand? The uninstaller comes
with the download package ( http://spanningsync.com/download ).

Larry,
thanks for your response. I tried the uninstaller but it produced an
error. Oddly enough the resolution was to re-install and uncheck the
box. I'll just leave it installed. Thanks for your help.

Sean,

If you're not using it you should probably remove it from your system
since it will continue to sync in the background. I'm not sure why the
installer would produce an error, but you can remove it manually by
deleting these folders:

/Library/PreferencePanes/SpanningSync.prefPane
/Library/Application Support/SpanningSync
~/Library/Application Support/SpanningSync

"~" refers to your home folder.

After doing so, logout and log back in to your Mac OS X account.

Please let us know if that doesn't address the problem or you have
other questions.
