I'm trying to use iwspy to see statistics on "eth0" interface, It gives me this message "No statistics to collect" when trying turn on statistics collecting on "eth0" on a device connected to the adhoc network "192.168.1.101 -- I'm able to ping this device" I get this error "Interface does not accept addresses ... Operation not permitted" I tried to use "su" for permissions but I got the su usage message.

Commands I tried
iwspy eth0
iwspy eth0 192.168.1.101
su iwspy eth0 192.168.1.101

How to make iwspy works on eth0 to collect statistics ?

I haven't tried to use iwspy myself, but my assumption is that the device is lacking the proper kernel support. It might have something to do with an incomplete Wireless Extensions (WEXT) implementation. I recommend taking a look at the kernel source code.
