Hello,

We just have problems with the cyanogenmod 10.1.3 kernel. It looks like the wifi signal strenght is very weak after installing the 10.1.3 kernel. We can't connect and assiocate to a normal wifi AP or we have to stand very very close to the AP. If we install a higher version of the cyanogenmod than we don't have this problem. What are the differents between the 10.1.3 and the higher versions? And how can we solve this problem?

We have 3 new samsung galaxy i9300 phones(european model). On our 2 old s3 phones we don't have this problem.

By AP do you mean another phone or a Wi-Fi router? Also, how close is "very very close"? It it just a few feet or hundreds of feet?

It's like 10 cm, so not even a foot! Very strange behaviour. We have this problem with the CM 10.1.3 stable version, not only when using the customized kernel but also when only flashing cm 10.1.3 only. Is it possible for someone to make a kernel-adjustment for a later version of CM, or can someone explain how to do this? Not only for adjusting kernel sources, but also all the other required steps to build this kernel and flash it?

Regards,

Sjoerd

And it's when connecting to other phones, as well as connecting to WiFi routers.

We can create an ad-hoc network with the manet manager, but it only works when the phones are adjacent to each other...

You’re better off posting on the CyanogenMod forum about CyanogenMod problems. You can also follow their directions for building a kernel and flashing it. Here are the changes I made to enable ad-hoc mode on the GT-I9300:

Personally, I chose not to follow the CyanogenMod steps for building my own kernel.

I cobbled together my own Ubuntu VM for kernel development. I learned everything by piecing together various bits from XDA and other forums. The best thing I can do for you is attach my GS3 kernel build script. I hope it helps. Essentially, I go on on the ClockworkMod Recovery site, look for a pre-packaged .zip for my device, and then use the contents of that .zip (usually based on the AnyKernel structure) as a template.

I had also this problem. I upgraded to CM11 but it was not fixed. I found this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-11-nightlies-t2529775 that points to a flashable zip in the page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44385381&postcount=28&nocache=1&z=7811971486080438.
I installed it from recovery mode and my wifi works fine.
