Fully 20 years ago I started covering an antique airplane with Silkspun Coverite. Now I need 2 rolls or any partials ya'll may have to finish it. Coverite hasn't made it in years.
Can you look in your old covering box and see if you have any Silkspun Coverite.

Man, a few years back there was an old school hobby shop in my area that was selling out (victim of the ARF age), they had a ton of Silk Span on clearance, unfortunately I faltered and a few days later when I decided to go back someone had already bought it all. :o(

Silkspun Coverite is different from Silkspan.
Silkspan is a paper you put on with dope.
Silkspun Coverite is a matt looking covering you iron on with Coverite Balsarite as stickum.
I have a lot of silkspan if anyone needs some.

Dan, You can buy a spun polyester that is used as a stiffener/liner for clothing that is the exact same stuff. Go to the fabric department at your local WalMart or a good fabric store and I think you will be amazed. Last time I looked I even found some with heat activated adhesive similar to what is used for iron on patches. You may have to shop around a little to find the right weight. Bonus is it is a lot cheaper than the Coverite material. Ask for Pellon (trade name) or interfacing. Les

CoveRite makes a woven-looking covering. I used it las winter on my
re-done H9 PT019, and it looks just like the "real stuff" on the
plane. Won't that work???

The stuff I was talking about in the last email is 21st Century Fabric
(Tower has it). Easy to put on, especially if you're good with
MoneyKote, comes in lots of nice colors, and just irons on. Oh, yeah,
it's as expensive as MoneyKote, too... ;-{O
