I received the following message from Bruce Underwood’s daughter Kim King this morning.

 

“Mr  and Mrs Johns,

 

Last night, my precious Daddy stepped into eternity and into the arms of Jesus—and into a glorious reunion with my sweet Mom. He is finally home, fully healed, and worshiping in the presence of the Savior he loved so dearly, alongside the love of his life.

 

Though our hearts ache, we are anchored in the hope and promise of heaven. 

 

Thank you for surrounding both Daddy and Mother with your love, your prayers, and your kindness during both their sicknesses. Please continue to lift our family up as we grieve with hope, trusting in God’s perfect peace and faithfulness.

 

If you will let all the flying buddies know as I do not have the contact information for them.

Bruce and Cass taught my brother Eric and I a lot back in the day. 

I’ll never forgot those lessons. 

Now they’re flying 10’s together again.

Thoughts and prayers for the Underwood family.  Bruce was an amazing ambassador for SPA and model aviation in general, not to mention one heck of a pattern flier.  I was privileged to judge a flight of his in 2005 that was bar-none the single best flight I’ve ever seen.  He set an example for all of us.  He will be missed.
