Another way to make the taskbar transparent in Windows 11 is to edit the Windows Registry. Before doing so, manually create a restore point in case something goes wrong, and you need to revert your system to a previous state.
Changing your system settings might seem too much of a hassle, especially editing the Windows Registry. Fortunately, you can use Translucent TB to quickly change your taskbar appearance and make it transparent with just a few clicks.
A fully transparent taskbar in Windows 11 allows you to enjoy a complete overview of your desktop and also gives a sleeker look to your desktop. Windows 11 does not actually offer the option to make the taskbar completely transparent, but this is where the free tool TranslucentTB comes in.
TranslucentTB is a free tool which offers the most optimal solution to making your Windows 11 taskbar transparent. The tool also offers a choice of three different transparency levels (opaque, slightly transparent or completely transparent) in the settings, as well as several color settings.
I'm sorry to hear that you're still having problems. I wonder if your problem is caused by a different issue. IMO, it's the windows update that fixed my video issue because I made no other changes, other than toggling transparency effects off and back on again. Who knows... weirder things have happened... toggling that setting may have added or corrected a registry setting that fixed things.
In my case, I'm having the same issue after upgrading my VM guest system to Windows 10 20H2 days ago. The taskbar becomes transparent, and the menu of the Start is also transparent and then results in the sub-menu of the 'Power' item doesn't show up but really exists. I can predict that position to turn off the system. But it's really annoying to see the flicking screen, not to mention guessing all positions of the invisible objects.
Another option that you may be interested in is in the Display tab called "Automatically hide the panel". This will move down the taskbar whenever you have a window open on fullscreen or you drag it over where the taskbar usually is.
The biggest reason to make your taskbar transparent is a subjective one, but one that many people would agree with is that a transparent taskbar just looks so much better! That big block of opaque space along the bottom of your desktop is a throwback to versions of Windows from decades ago. It can look a little out of place on a modern OS, especially when you compare it to the Dock on a Mac.
Knowing how to make the taskbar transparent in Windows 11 allows you to take control of exactly how your taskbar looks. The default opaque taskbar is pretty ugly, and making it transparent can make your desktop look a lot more stylish and help you show off every pixel of your carefully chosen wallpaper.
You can check the state of TranslucentTB and adjust your new translucent taskbar. Select the TranslucentTB icon from your taskbar, then hover over the Regular option until the dropdown menu appears with additional translucency options.
