Dear Share PSI network,

My colleague Serah Rono (serah...@okfn.org) is working on a European project called ROUTETOPA.  It’s very much related to the efforts of Share PSI - it’s looking at how publication of government open data can be better coordinated and informed by the citizens and businesses and other stakeholders who want to use that data. More details about the project appear below this email.

The project is running prototype development in four countries: the Netherlands, Ireland, Italy and France.  My question is, do you know people or groups in these countries who have an interest in open data and may like to test and shape these tools?  If so, please send them to me or Serah.  It would be great to have diverse user groups who can help contribute to making these tools as user friendly and as relevant and useful to these communities and communities throughout Europe, as possible.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

With thanks,

Emma

Dear all,

My name is Serah Njambi Rono, I am a developer advocate at Open Knowledge International. OKI is collaborating with 11 other partners across the EU on a Horizon2020 project, routetopa.eu, which aims to bridge the gap between local authorities, the data they publish / open up and the communities that interact with this data.

The partners have jointly created a social media platform that allows communities to engage local authorities in conversations around open data, allowing them to ask questions , seek clarifications and offer suggestions that can help to influence policy.

This project has also built extensions on CKAN, OKI’s open source data platform, so that public administrations have a place to publish / open up their data.

At this time, this project is test driving these tools as they are being developed in 5 pilot cities, see below:

None. Issy has another open data platform already.

Open Knowledge International is currently working round the clock to help build active communities around these tools to take part in user testing workshops and to use the platforms to interact with their public administrations and with each other as open data users / enthusiasts.

We would like to connect pilots to any existing open data communities in the cities above, and also have your community test the tools as well. Any leads for people we can reach out to, that would be interested, would be highly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Serah Rono
