Yes, it seems that way to me too.
I've noticed in conversations with companies that there is willingness to release data if it augments / complements government data that is being published. Or if it is not just one company but a wider group, or a sector, doing it.
Some companies see a competitive advantage in being transparent or being seen as transparent.
In response to Michele's mail just now, in the media sector there is indeed also some activity. I can mention Helsingin Sanomat, Finlands biggest newspaper. They have open data guidelines

I think in the media it is more about re-publishing data they have re-used or gathered themselves for their news stories, than about publishing data about their own company or product/service.
