using netflix on AppleTV 4 and having issues lately with some titles not loading. After selecting the movie or episode, it will just stay on the loading loop. Not a network issue since other titles will load and stream fine. Most titles work fine, but 10% of the time, titles like girl from oslo, fauda, blackspace wont load. Tried forced app restart and reinstall, but issue persists.

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities, and we'll be happy to help in any way we can. We understand you're having issues with certain content in the Netflix app. To start, follow the steps listed here to see if they help resolve the issue:If you can't watch or stream movies and TV shows in the Apple TV app

I have exactly the same problem. It helps to delete and reinstall the Netflix app. Then everything is fine for some weeks or months, but, out of a sudden, some titles again refuse to start and I have to do the delete-reinstall cycle once again.

The first movie I tried to play after updating to 1.08.17 in Netflix was Open Season 3. The movie has some crazy ghosting/pixelation going on. You only have to play the first minute or two and please let me know if you get the same. Other movies I have tried so far play fine. If anyone could report back and let me know how it plays for you on the SMP I would be most appreciative.

EDIT: Just tested this movie in Netflix on a Boxee Box and it plays fine.
EDIT2: My box is wired and I have a 15 megabit connection to the internet
EDIT3: Other movies effected are The Secret of Kells and Open Season 2

Well I found a fix BUT not the kind of fix I wanted. I logged into netflix.com and went to my account /manage video quality and changed it from BEST QUALITY to BETTER QUALITY and the issue is gone. Any thoughts???

After 2 calls to netflix my issue still persists. They are looking into the issue and told me I should receive and email in 24-48 hours. Here is a bandwidth chart from the same movie streamed from Netflix on a Boxee Box using the same ethernet cable. As you can see there is quite a difference in the average transmission rate.

It appears that the Boxee Box is limited to a 720p stream from Netflix while the Live SMP can pull a full 1080p stream. This is why Boxee can stream these movies no problem while Live SMP has issues. There is an issue somewhere with the 1080p encodes or the way the Live SMP handles the stream.

It may not have the sheer number of new titles each month as Netflix but Prime Video's focus on quality (in two meanings of the word) over quantity has won me round. Of course, Netflix is still often the place to watch some of my favourite movies, but Prime Video's hit rate is in my opinion, much higher. Here are 3 reasons why I think it's now the better option.

Perhaps that's a bit harsh on the big N, it has produced some fantastic shows and even Oscar-winning movies like All Quiet On the Western Front and Marriage Story, but I feel like a big proportion of releases now are either trashy reality TV (which has a place) or identikit teenage dramas.

In recent years Prime Video has had exclusive access to some of the best films released. Current best picture winner Everything, Everywhere, All at Once is only streaming on Prime Video for example, as is The Whale - the movie that won Brendan Fraser an Oscar and Triangle of Sadness (another Oscar nominee). Some movies are even making the switch from Netflix to Amazon, with the beautiful The Peanut Butter Falcon now instead on Prime Video.

When it comes to series, I'd have to give the edge to Netflix still (providing they don't cancel my favourites), but Amazon has been going big in this area recently. Spy thriller Citadel is one of the biggest budget TV shows ever made while there are also blockbuster fantasy series like Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and The Wheel of Time. The Marvelous Mrs Maisel and The Boys are fantastic but my favourite Prime Video exclusive is US Office creator Greg Daniels' Upload.

Also in Amazon's favour is the fact that the standard Netflix plan will only offer up to 1080p streaming. If you have one of the best TVs you'll have to upgrade to Netflix Premium (15.99/ $19.99) to make the most of your setup. Prime Video offers 4K resolution at no extra price.

As a younger service, I feel like Prime Video is still in its experimental phase. Netflix has gone too mainstream now. Prime Video has a massive selection of titles that have much quirkier, less commercial premises.

Licorice Pizza is a unique must-watch directed by Paul Thomas Anderson that features the tensest scene I can remember in any movie, while Guns Akimbo has a truly unhinged premise. Daniel Radcliffe wakes up in his dressing gown and slippers with a pair of guns bolted to his hands, how could you not want to check that out?

If you're after something a bit out-there Prime Video is a wonderful world of weird.

Streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime are in constant competition with each other. So why is it that some movies such as Inception (in the UK at least), Pineapple Express, and The Cabin In The Woods appear on two (or more) of these services at the same time? As of 2020, almost every film fan has become accustomed to the omnipresent phenomenon that is the movie streaming service. The industry giants have ensured that a lot of the best original Netflix movies are available only on their platforms.

But massive corporate mergers, such as Disney buying out Fox, mean that many movies are now lost in the crossfire between companies. For a particularly famous and costly example, just look at the quagmire caused when Disney bought the rights to Spider-Man from Sony in a protracted negotiation which Sony won. As a result, these films may not be available on any streaming services for a period of time, or they may be available on two rival streaming services simultaneously. For example, in some territories, titles such as Cabin in the Woods, Pineapple Express, and Inception appear on both Netflix and Amazon Prime at the same time.

Whilst there is no single definitive answer to the question of why these films are allowed to appear on both streaming services at once, it is most likely due to their relative age meaning Netflix is unwilling to pay extra for exclusive streaming rights. Originally released in 2012, 2008, and 2010 respectively (and in the case of Cabin in the Woods, filmed in 2009), these three titles are licensed by both services at once because there is less intense competition over their rights. This is a positive development for movie lovers, as it means many classic movies are likely to be more widely available as streaming services opt to share them instead of paying extra. The intense competition between Netflix and Disney+ means Netflix could block Marvel from producing promising future movies, proving that these companies are still very much invested in keeping new content on only one platform. As a result, some classics can slip by and become available across various services in the process.

I believe that some movies and shows give us a window to look out at the world in new ways. Peering through these windows, I see the diversity of ideas and culture in the world. I understand why ever-expanding my horizons with an open mind is so critical for personal and professional growth.

Regardless of how you feel about this company specifically, The Founder is a business and life lesson. It forced me to think about what kind of leader I want to be and to what extent I would go to make it happen. Am I hungry enough for success?

People will pay an outrageous premium for the perfect product, especially if you make it an experience. The film also puts on display the relationship between a father and a son who he is training to inherit his legacy, which makes me think about building a legacy for future children someday and how I would respond if their passion lies elsewhere.

The Office is an office-life mockumentary that follows the work and personal lives of people at a paper company. This hilarious and often irreverent multi-season show puts on display the personality conflicts, connections, and struggles found in many businesses. It tackles real issues like succession planning, failed leadership, harassment, race relations, business failure, nepotism, and digital transformation. But it does so in a fun, binge-worthy way. What are streaming services like Hulu and Netflix for if not to binge watch great shows like this?

This shows the importance of sticking together as a family through thick and thin, supporting each other and working together toward your goals. Those are all important values for those working on their MBA and in life.

Hidden Figures is the inspiring true story of three Black women breaking down racial and gender barriers in 1961 in mathematics and spaceflight to successfully send a man into outer space for the first time.

Entrepreneurs with big ideas pitch their products, services and businesses to seek an investment from the Sharks, entrepreneurs who built their own brands and companies from nothing and are now multi-million or billionaires.

The show, Shark Tank, consistently reinforces essential business principles that any MBA needs to know. For example: Know when to stop selling and close the deal. Indecisiveness can lead to lost deals. Know your numbers. Research your audience. Know what your product is worth.

So that you don't have to spend hours searching through thousands of movies, some good, some bad and everything in-between, we've compiled a list of the best science-fiction movies and television shows currently on Netflix.
