Hey,
My name is Jessica and I’ll be interning with the launch operations group at VAFB starting Jan 7th. I’m graduating with my M.S. from Georgia Tech in a few weeks (aerospace/ASDL), but my first degree was from RPI (aero/mech). I’ve spent some time out at the base before, and there are a lot of cool things going on out there. Can’t wait to meet you guys!

Hey Everyone,I'll be working in Avionics starting Jan 7th. I'm a junior at Harvard studying CS and Physics. I play acoustic guitar and would love to find some people to jam with. I also love board and videogames, as well as soccer, tennis and golf (thought I don't think I'll be bringing my clubs). If people are planning outdoor trips on weekends I'd love to join, though I'm unlikely to take the initiative to plan my own trip. I'll be staying at Fountain Park with a friend, but naturally there's room for 2 more. If you're looking for roommates and enjoy games/music, let me know! I'll be turning in my housing form soon and it'd be great to have a couple more names to jot down.Best wishes and can't wait to meet you all!Joseph Schiavone

I'm still debating whether to bring my car back (since I just drove it here to the east coast this semester), but regardless I'm planning on making many weekend trips to do with any of the following: mountain bike, camp/fish, rock climb, snowboard, or generally anything that sounds like it could be fun. Being a resident of California for my entire life (inland) I feel somewhat ashamed, so I also am planning on learning to surf.
I am most likely going to live in Oakwood or nearby to utilize the shuttle to work, so I am looking for a room mate. I'm a hard working kid when I have to be, but love to have fun on my own time. If you are interested hit me up.
Wish everyone a great end of the semester and looking forward to leaving my mark on Hawthorne with you guys!

Hey guys,
I'm going to be starting at space-X on January 21st, and oh boy do I have plans. I already have 5 hiking/camping trips planned to places around Los Angeles, and it sounds like some of you guys might be interested in joining me (or me joining one of you, if you happen to have better plans). I made a google group for those of us who are interested to make plans and share pictures and stuff, so if that sounds like your cup-a-tea, send me a message and I'll invite you to the group!
A little bit about me: I'm a junior MechE at UIUC, and I'm from the chicagoan suburbs. I like most sports, and I too need to learn how to surf. I'm going to be staying at Fountain Park for at least the first month, but I would like to get together with some of you to get an apartment in the area, if that interests anyone.
Spring can not come soon enough.

Hi everyone,
I’m a little late to the party as well, finally finished my undergrad and internship so I finally have time. I will be graduating this Friday with a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida. I will be flying to California the 4th of January and start work the 7th. I will be working as a propulsion intern for the propulsion design group.
I have read everyone’s emails and I’m interested in doing everything listed, I played about every Intermural sport here at UCF and just got my open water scuba certification as well. That being said I will most likely be down for anything, I really just want to explore California and plan on going skiing/snowboarding multiple times. I’ve never been to Vegas so I’m planning a trip there as well , so let me know if you’re interested.
Wish you all happy holidays and safe travels, see you all soon.

Hi Guys,
How are you all doing? I am late for the response too. Sorry about it.
I used to live in california for a couple of years and I did my undergrad at UC Irvine, 40 mins drive from SpaceX.
So, for people who have not been to LA area, I can help on finding good restaurants since I'd like to eat so many different food. I will start my internship at RF&FPGA group on Jan 7th and I hope everyone will have a safe holiday.
See you guys soon in LA.
Have a good day

My name is Rosie and I'll be graduating from undergrad at the University of Washington Mechanical Engineering Department in march. I'll be starting at SpaceX on March 25 in Structures.
Most of my undergrad has been composite studies on the UW FSAE team. However, I do love hanging with friends. I've never been skiing or snowboarding but have always wanted to learn. It might be too late by the time I make it down to Cali before the snow melts though! In that case, I've always wanted to learn how to surf too!
I was born and raised in Seattle my whole life and this will be the first time I will be away from home for a while. I am really excited to start this internship with all of you and look forward to meeting you guys!!
See you in march!
Guess I'll jump on the bandwagon and introduce myself too!
I'm Andrew - I'm a senior Mechanical Engineering major at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland but am originally from the Bay Area. Looking forward to coming back to California for the winter.
I'll be starting the 14th as a structures intern and will be at Fountain Park apartments. I really like camping/hiking/backpacking and also am not too terrible at snowboarding.
@Kartik - I also really love good food and would be interested in exploring restaurants and bars around LA.
Looking forward to meeting everyone this spring!
Andrew Gerst
