Coachella 2013 Feasibility Check

Hi all. So this is actually my first post so hey--my name is Karl and I'm 2nd year Aerospace guy from Georgia Tech working in structures for our favorite company.

It just hit me that we may have a fantastic opportunity to go to one of the coolest music festivals in the country: Coachella in Indo California. The festival, for those who are unaware, lasts two weekends, and is scheduled this year for April 12-14 & April 19-21. The drive there is approximately two hours and the lineup ranges from all sorts of rock (folk, alternative, punk, etc.), electronic, hip-hop, and more. Here is the link for the 2012 lineup so you guys can get an idea of what groups will be there. I have no car here, so someone would have to drive our group, and presumably we'd only go for one weekend, either camping out or staying in a hotel. Tickets are $349. Yeah it's a lot, but there's a lot to hear for us music lovers.

I'd definitely love to go to Coachella! Two weekends might be a bit crazy, but that would depend on the line-up. I'll keep an eye out for any news!

To all those who've already started; how is it?? Is it as awesome as we all expect?

Tuesday at 10am. If my predictions are correct, they'll probably sell out by 10:01am.

Glad to know we have some interest! As Supriya pointed out, tickets do go on sale Tuesday at 10am, and yes they will sell out very quickly.

So two big things we'll need to decide to make this happen are:

1. Which weekend we want to go and

2. Who's going to drive us there

With those in mind, does anyone have a preference to the weekend we go? 

Here's the Lineup for 2013. To get a better idea of when everyone's playing you can make an account and choose a lineup of whoever you want to see. It should arrange them by date.

In addition, does anyone volunteer their car for whichever weekend to go?

Hey all - looks like we've got 7 people going for the second weekend. We got 3 car camping passes, so we may end up taking 3 cars - that means we've got room to grow!!

Tickets are still available for the 2nd weekend! Let us know if you're coming.
