Actor Christopher Gorham portrayed the personable young Elder Groberg; soon to break out star Anne Hathaway portrayed his future wife, Jean Sabin (who accompanied her husband to Laie); and Joe Folau, a Tongan from New Zealand, acted as Feki. Davis shot the film in New Zealand and substituted Rarotonga in the Cook Islands for the Tonga scenes.

My mind often goes back to playing basketball every Monday evening in the Mormon gym. Also there are many memories that focus on experiencing the Tongan culture and lifestyle. I never tired of the dancing and singing. I was in Tonga when they had the 100 year celebration of the Constitution called the Kato Anga. For a whole week, every village had their dance and singing team perform in front of the King and Queen of Tonga. During this celebration, a bonfire was lit every 10 yards around the entire perimeter of Tongatapu. The entire shape of the Island could be seen from the air at night.

I cherish the way that being in Tonga has helped me to not be rushed and live, as best I can, a Taimi Tonga (Tonga Time) lifestyle where I am not controlled by a clock. Being in Tonga has helped Dorothy and I live and bring a fakatonga (like a Tongan) lifestyle to Upstate NY where we cherish good friends and enjoy a good laugh and each other.

Emile Hons paced across his San Bruno living room, talking on the phone to a stranger about memories he wasn't sure he wanted to bring back -- memories of a tragic incident in an idyllic place, half a world away, half a lifetime ago.

Hons has returned to Tonga several times, even starting a Web site about the good times there (www.friendsoftonga.com). When he found out that the air tanks used by Tongan firefighters were woefully out of date, he and his colleagues in the San Bruno Rotary Club bought new ones for them, and Hons and the club have helped with other projects. He plans to visit again in February.

In the last article from Memories of a Circumnavigation Hugh and Heather continued to explore French Polynesia and shared their memories about Palmerston Island. Lets continue to follow the adventures of Argonauta I, from when they began their journey in 1997 in the Caribbean, until the completion of the circumnavigation in 2006, when they crossed their 1997 outbound Caribbean track.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 beginning at 11:00 A.M at the Redwood Memorial. A link to the services will be posted where friends and family may also share memories and condolences. Masks and social distancing are required.

The call revived my memories of the good old days at the village. The nearest motorable road linked Moga to Ludhiana and it was two-and-a-half km from our village. Buses plied only on that road so if anybody wanted to go to Moga or Ludhiana or any other town, the preferred mode of transport to take us to the road was the tonga.

There was only one tonga and Sohan was its owner and driver. He was a humble man. His day started at 7am. To reach our college at Jagraon in time, we had to catch the bus from Ajitwal at 8am. Sohan with his tonga was there at the village chowk every morning without fail. All college students depended on him to take them to Ajitwal on time.

There were six seats in the tonga that were usually given to women and the elderly. Youngsters like me were accommodated on the fringes and sometimes on the front bamboo of the tonga. To keep our balance during the half an hour bumpy journey was a task in itself.

I planned a visit the next weekend. I found things had changed a lot over the years. There is a motorable road but there are no tongas or tempos now. The mini buses and personal vehicles of villagers zoomed past me on the busy road.

Anthotypes are a plant-based photography made with plant extractions: leaves, stems, berries and flowering heads. The photographic process is known as fugitive, as the images fade faster than other processes, becoming anarchival. Anthotypes are an appealing medium in our practice because they connect us to an everywhere sense of impermanence, to growing and gathering and processing with plants, and to a longer history of photography and human relationships with images and image-making. They are a slow and unpredictable practice, allowing for an intimate sensory exploration of timescales, bodies and memories.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving children, Zykeem Pinkney, Zykerieah Adkins, Zyjaneriah Adkins, her mother, Tonga Cooper, grandmother, Ruth Brown, her siblings, Lafayette Cooper, Monica Adkins, Mark Adkins, Jr., Jordan Mcintosh all of Savannah, GA, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

They felt down by the Tropical Cyclone in April this year so I save them from being used as firewood and have them as part of my house, carry a lot of sweet memories as I use to climb them and pick their fruit (lycee) as a kid.

Next morning, after a dawn serenade, the visiting couple attendedchurch, then boarded the liner Gothic. As Queen Salote and her familycircled the huge vessel in a government launch, the Gothic steamed offtoward New Zealand. When the big white ship was hull down on thehorizon, a radio message winged its way back: "We take away happiestmemories of Tonga and the great and friendly welcome given us by yourpeople. May Almighty God watch over them and you."

Island people have excellent memories for information. But, memories can fade and old people can die. Writing makes it possible for others to see and read our information without our being there to tell it, even after we are gone.

Hufanga discussed how he incorporates his Polynesian heritage into his on-field celebration, his favorite memories growing up on a farm, staying high energy on gamedays and more during the latest episode of Toyota 1-on-1.
