I am trying to hide the URL of my audio streams for my HTML5 player and was really struggling to think of a way to do so and then I realised, soundcloud must hide the URL's of their streams. So i went onto soundcloud, opened up the console and played a track but I couldn't see any obvious way that the URL is hidden. After this I took a look at the DOM tree to see if there was any kind of audio information in there but I found nothing! There's not even an ID for the player/audio so i'm very confused as to how soundcloud have done it.
Now I have done as best as I can so far with hiding the audio URL. I have put an ID in the DOM for the track, got that ID when the play button is clicked and retrieved the URL for that ID from the database. The obvious problem with that is that anyone willing enough can just go to the console and get the URL from the network events.
I am not trying to break past soundcloud's security to download tracks I shouldn't be. I'm just curious as to how they've hidden the URL. Now i'm also curious as to how each track is distinguished as there's nothing in the DOM distinguishing them (not that I found on my brief look anyway).
So that's how they hide their stream URL's. The only non obvious part is that they find the song ID, by hitting an API with the URL as a parameter. Same can be done with download URL's on tracks that support it.

I'm logged into SoundCloud and have the Go account. When I click on connect to sound cloud from inside of Traktor DJ 2, I'm taken to a page to confirm that it's my account. When I click connect and continue, I'm taken to a page that says "Redirecting" and it stays there.
Your device must have the most recent version of Traktor DJ 2 loaded. If you're using a firewall or antivirus software, turn it off briefly to see if it's getting in the way of the link. I also need help. so many others also write SoundCloud will not connect to traktor DJ2. I have removed antivirus. updated the program. experiencing the same error. I've been looking forward to using SoundCloud on tractor DJ2, but unfortunately it doesn't work.
This isn't difficult once you know the issue. The issue is that, when Traktor DJ is installed, it fails to register the URL handler with Windows - so when soundcloud calls back to traktordj://, Windows doesn't know what to do with that.
You can resolve the issue in 2-5 minutes by creating a new key in your registry. Since I just signed up, I can't post links, but here goes:

I would consider adding the Soundcloud API to the options for the SubMusic app. However, according to the Soundcloud terms of use, it is not allowed to cache or download anything for offline use. Therefore it will be unlikely any app can implement this ever. From theTerms of Use - caching:

You have to get Joyoshare Audio Recorder to record the song in high quality. But if you simply want to get this song real quick, use the Audio Capture Chrome extension in the same way.
I guess if the music uploader doesn't allow you to download, even you have a pro accoung you can't download it? I don't know exactly, but the best way (maybe not allowed by the platform) is of course to utilize third-party downloader. If I didn't remember it wrong, some tools also support the playlist download. Whey these downloaders or converters fail to parse song url, then you will have to make a recording of it with related screen capture tool like RecMaster....
