Java for macOS 2017-001 installs the legacy Java 6 runtime for macOS 10.13 High Sierra, macOS 10.12 Sierra, macOS 10.11 El Capitan, macOS 10.10 Yosemite, macOS 10.9 Mavericks, macOS 10.8 Mountain Lion, and macOS 10.7 Lion.

I upgraded to OSX Yosemite yesterday. When I run library(xlsx) in RStudio, the program crashes and I get the message: "To open 'RStudio' you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime." I get the same result and message about opening R when I run library(xlsx) in R.

This did not do the trick because running library(xlsx) still crashes the program and throws a warning. Do I need to somehow roll back to Java SE 6 runtime, or is there a way to use the latest version I have installed?

Basically what you're doing here is running the java_home executable, which returns your Java path, and then appending the jre/lib/server directory. This gets assigned to LD_LIBRARY_PATH, which is what RStudio needs to correctly.

I wanted to install Xamarin test recorder - after installing they asked me to install Android sdkSDK is downloaded in Library/Developer/Xamarin/android-sdkNow when I run Android present in tools folder - I get the error - No Java run timeI've installed JRE 8 with get the verified java version from their siteCan someone please help!!

I'm having the same trouble as dartmadartist (trying to open illustrator yields "you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime" popup... I recently reinstalled Yosemite 10.10.5 on my MacBook Pro which has caused this issue to come up...

They should be flexible about it - I dont have money to do the subscriptions so I stick with my CS6 since that doesnt require me to chuck money that I dont have...and it still works on my laptop no problems, minus the java issue...

That just takes you to this Oracle website where you can download the latest installer for either the Java 8 JRE (the runtime, for most users) or the Java 8 JDK (the Java development kit, for developers).

To resolve this runtime error message, you simply need to install Java using either of the methods outlined above, then quit and relaunch Safari web browser and return to the site(s) in question. When they reload and Java is available, the runtime required error will disappear and the website content will load as expected.

hi every time a plug in my mac a small window is on my screen whit the java install and press ok and gone but ifi restart my mac o every time plug in still there so how i can do to eraser this notification please help

This article explains how to install older versions of WireframeSketcher (4.4.1 and older) on Mac OS X Yosemite. Newer version of WireframeSketcher bundle a Java runtime and do not require any special preparations.

The JAVA runtime environment is required to run eclipse so you will have to install it first. The question is which one? On the SAP HANA Tools website, it is recommended to use JRE version 1.6+. For Mac users, Apple supplies their own version of Java for Java versions 6 and below. If prompted by the OS, do not install JAVA for OS X ( ) as it is not compatible with eclipse Luna. Personally, I have a preference for using the latest version of JAVA (security) and so I will be installing JAVA SE 8u25 (I am going with the JDK since I need it for other software development purposes as well).

Since current Adobe installers and applications were built before these changes by Apple, Adobe software anticipates that Java is installed. Adobe and Apple have worked together to ensure that you can install Java at OS install time. Or it can be installed later before you install Adobe applications. At runtime, when you launch an Adobe application, you are prompted to install Java if it is not already installed. If you do not install Java before running an Adobe application, there can be missing or improperly behaving features. If you encounter any issues, install Java to correct the problems. Adobe recommends that corporate IT organizations pre install Java (or make sure that Java can be installed through their firewalls/security) to avoid conflicts with Adobe applications.

You can determine which version of the JDK is the default by entering java -version in a Terminal window. If the installed version is 20 Interim 0, Update 0, and Patch 0, then you see a string that includes the text 1-8. For example:

Some applications use /usr/bin/java to call Java. After installing Java for macOS 2012-006, /usr/bin/java will find the newest JDK installed, and will use that for all of the Java-related command-line tools in /usr/bin. You may need to modify those applications to find Java 6, or contact the developer for a newer version of the application.

Java for macOS 2017-001 installs the legacy Java 6 runtime for macOS 10.13 High Sierra, macOS 10.12 Sierra, macOS 10.11 El Capitan, macOS 10.10 Yosemite, macOS 10.9 Mavericks, macOS 10.8 Mountain Lion, and macOS 10.7 Lion.

I installed again x plane 10 and the Boeing 777; I also installed java download, but when I open the airplanes (this time also the boeing 757 professional) and I enter the code, I get always the message ERROR ACTIVATING AIRCRAFT.

Your licence was active, you were unable to run the plane because JAVA was not installed in your system. You had to install just java! but because you also re-installed xplane your licence is no longer valid and got locked.

As mmerelles said, also check the manual.pdf in your DOC's folder it explains why the EFB needs java runtimes installed even if you don't intend to use the EFB. (cos the EFB checks for the presence of the java runtimes then checks for any new "charts to convert").

But be aware some people is reporting poor performance, it seems yosemite demands more RAM/VRAM than mavericks and if your system was up to the limit on mavericks you may experience a huge performance drop. If you run out of RAM or GPU VRAM xplane performance quits dramatically

The swift integration can use Objective-C objects, both from the standard libraries (such as UIKit or Cocoa) as well as user-defined types. Classes can also be created in swift natively (which can then also be used from Objective-C) which, like other Objective-C objects, are reference counted. (The references are managed automatically by the runtime, so the user does not need to worry about memory management in swift directly.) As well as classes, which are reference types, it is possible to create struct value types that can be passed by copy as values to function types.
