As October draws to a close, we have much to celebrate.
It’s rewarding to see the impact of our programs unfold in real time, and we’re continually inspired by the diverse and generous ways our communities support our work.

Whenever we work with children and their parents, we impact generations.
When we first met Cristina 12 years ago, she was a teen mom enrolling her young daughter in our Infant Learning Center.
Now that little girl is a bright and determined 15-year-old, enrolled at San Fernando Valley High School, and Cristina has built a career at an elementary school in Canoga Park.

After welcoming her second daughter, Cristina enrolled her in the same program that nurtured her sister, and she has bloomed! Recently, Cristina stopped by with a heartfelt letter and cake to thank YWCA Greater Los Angeles for being, in her words, “a comfort zone away from home and a safe place for all.”
We’re proud to have supported Cristina and her girls through the years.

Survivors in our Healing Arts Workshop | From survival to empowerment | |
Survival is strength — reclaiming your power is triumph.
Especially when it comes to surviving and triumphing over sexual assault and human trafficking.
We’re thrilled to let you know that the State of California has certified us to broaden our services to support survivors of domestic violence alongside those impacted by sexual assault and trafficking.
As part of this powerful addition, we're proud to announce our new, expanded program: Survivor Empowerment Services. While we of course continue our essential work providing Sexual Assault Crisis Services, we’re now able to help people with tools and support to overcome the trauma of domestic violence. The name Survivor Empowerment Services reflects our deepened commitment to provide safe, accessible, and trauma-informed care for all survivors — now, and for the future.
We must all work together to end the abuse of girls and women, and this change empowers us to do more.
