On Windows 7, installed Inkscape 0.484 and copied the Sozi files into the extension folders as per the Sozi website's guide.
When launching Sozi, the message of Inkscape is the usual "working .... " message AND
then the following ERROR MESSAGE:

"Inkscape has received additional data from the script executed. The script did not return and error, but this may indicate the result will not be as expected" - and in the error message in the text box:
"File "sozi.py", line 30, in <module>
from sozi.document import *

File "C:\Program Files\inkscape\share\extensions\sozi\document.py", line 81
self.layers = { l.attrib[group_attr] : SoziLayer(self, l) for l in self.xml.xpath("sozi:layer", namespaces=inkex.NSS) if group_attr in l.attrib }
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax

---------------------------------------------------------
The result is that Sozi does not compile its file / does not perform its function / Does not seem to launch ?
.... what did we do wrong with the Sozi installation?

Many thanks for helping !

This error message happens when Sozi is executed with the wrong
version of Python.
Check that Python 2.7 is correctly installed in the Inkscape folder.

Hi,

Im on windows 8 win 64

  1. Install Inkscape using the Windows 32-bit installer. The default installation location is C:\Program Files\Inkscape or C:\Program Files (x86)\Inkscape
  2. Install Python 2.7. Use the default Windows 32-bit installer, not the one for x86_64. The default installation location is C:\Python27
  3. Install LXML for Python 2.7 and Windows 32-bit (win32-py2.7).
  4. Install PyGTK 2.24. Choose the all-in-one installer for Python 2.7 and Windows 32-bit (win32).
  5. Copy the folder C:\Python27 into C:\Program Files\Inkscape
  6. Rename the folder C:\Program Files\Inkscape\python as C:\Program Files\Inkscape\python26
  7. Rename the folder C:\Program Files\Inkscape\Python27 as C:\Program Files\Inkscape\python
  8. Download Sozi
  9. Unzip the archive sozi-release-[...].zip. You should get a folder named archive sozi-release-[...]. Copy the content of this folder into C:\Program Files\Inkscape\share\extensions
  10. Start or relaunch Inkscape. You should now see an item Sozi in the Extensions menu.
DOES this still apply to Sozi 15.11? Does this apply to my operating system I mentioned above?

Thank you for your input. Your help is appreciated

No. These instructions only apply to Sozi 13 and earlier.
As far as I know, Sozi 15 should work with Windows 8 64-bit.

Guillaume,

Do you know if there is an installation advice for Sozi 15 or 16 as Inscape Plugin on Win 10 64 bit ?

I actually fin only instructions for the outdated Version sozi 13 to be found here:
http://sozi.baierouge.fr/pages/install-windows.html

I managed to installe Inscape 91 on Win 10 64-bit in the 32-bit Version and installed python 2.7, LXML for 32 bit and PyGTK i copied the sozi 13 Data to the extensions folder and inscape shows the sozi and the sozi extras extension, but when i try to activate this extension i get this error:

[ Traceback (most recent call last):
 File "sozi.py", line 25, in <module>
    import inkex
  File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Inkscape\share\extensions\inkex.py", line 114
    except Exception, e:
                    ^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax]

I am not sure where to pu the sozi15 or sozi16 files.

All information needed to run Sozi 15 or 16 is here:
http://sozi.baierouge.fr/pages/20-install.html

Sozi 15/16 is not an Inkscape plugin.

Sozi 13 is no longer supported. As far as I know, it has not been tested with recent versions of Inkscape or Windows.

OK, if understand this correctly than the Workflow in preparing a Presentation is now completly different ?
I have to create an SVG, than open it in the Stand alone Version of sozi and then define the diffferent frame/views ?

Yes.
You can try the tutorial to get a better understanding of how it works:
