How to insert animated gifs?

Hi everyone.
I´ve been using inkscape for some simple stuff in the past.
Now I would like to use Sozi aswell but I need to use animated gifs or similar (no videos).
Can anyone tell me how to insert an animated gif in an easy way?
Step by step for a beginner :-)

Hi.
I have never tried to insert animated GIFs in an SVG document.
Naively, I would go to the "File" menu and choose "Import", like for
any other kind of images.

hi,

try not embedding the animated gif, but instead linking to it from the svg -- worked for me :-)

step by step:
- ctrl+i opens the insert image dialog
- choose whether to embed or only link to the image
- in case you upload your files to some other place, you may need to adapt the path to the file -- to do that, open the svg in your favourite text editor, search for the file name of your animated gif & adapt the path/url accordingly
