Im getting a little bit frustrated as I cant seem to install these programs onto my computer. Can anyone help please? Im using microsoft 8 win64

  1. Install Inkscape using the Windows 32-bit installer. The default installation location is C:\Program Files\Inkscape or C:\Program Files (x86)\Inkscape
  2. Install Python 2.7. Use the default Windows 32-bit installer, not the one for x86_64. The default installation location is C:\Python27
  3. Install LXML for Python 2.7 and Windows 32-bit (win32-py2.7).
  4. Install PyGTK 2.24. Choose the all-in-one installer for Python 2.7 and Windows 32-bit (win32).
  5. Copy the folder C:\Python27 into C:\Program Files\Inkscape
  6. Rename the folder C:\Program Files\Inkscape\python as C:\Program Files\Inkscape\python26
  7. Rename the folder C:\Program Files\Inkscape\Python27 as C:\Program Files\Inkscape\python
  8. Download Sozi
  9. Unzip the archive sozi-release-[...].zip. You should get a folder named archive sozi-release-[...]. Copy the content of this folder into C:\Program Files\Inkscape\share\extensions
  10. Start or relaunch Inkscape. You should now see an item Sozi in the Extensions menu.
I either have files missing or running errors.

Not sure where Im going wrong. I have also followed these steps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYOmt7g3rDA with no effect.

Should I be using win32?

Anyone else having installation problems?

Thanks for your advice

Denise

This video explains how to install Sozi 13.
The instructions to run Sozi 15 are available here: http://sozi.baierouge.fr/pages/20-install.html

Quoted from the web site:

<< Sozi is currently provided in the form of a zip archive. Unzipping the archive will create a folder with the same name. Linux and Windows users will run Sozi by launching the Sozi executable inside that folder. >>

There is nothing more to do. If it does not work for you, please explain what you tried and what you observed.

Thank you Sir :) I also found this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFRnWhNcXnA a good walkthrough. This comes in handy to "see" it being installed. Im sorry I bothered you on a Sunday. Seems win32 works ok on win64.

Thank you for your time and Im looking forward to using your software.

I downloaded the 13.11 file instead of 15.11. I think Im a little bit exhausted knowing what to do with this file :/ do I copy the file into extensions?

No you just double click it to run Sozi (no longer an Inkscape
extension) and import an SVG-file that you've made in Inkscape or
similar vector graphics software.
