Hello!
Join us on Thursday, November 5th from 6:00-7:30pm for an exciting interprofessional event- COVID-19: Effects on Education!
RSVP here: https://unc.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bK5QOj9lVNGY6Pz

After hearing a brief presentation from two experts from the School of Education, we'll go into breakout rooms to explore the impact that COVID-19 has had on K-12 public education. We’ll reflect on the ways that the various resources and programs provided through public schools have impacted the health and economic welfare of students and their families. We ask you to bring your thoughts, experiences, and observations to the discussion!

Here are some examples of the topics we'll explore:
  • What are some services provided in public schools (dental screenings, free and reduced-price lunch, medications, OT services, counseling/mental health services) that have been impacted by school closures/virtual learning?
  • Do you think that COVID has changed the way we will look at education in the future? Why?
  • What are some of the larger economic impacts that COVID has had in relation to the education system? (ex: Consider parents who need to work a job to provide for their families)

We hope to see you there! Please reach out to s...@live.unc.edu with any questions! The zoom link will be sent out to those who RSVP closer to the event!
