Hi All,
So this is a special event I wanted to let my neighborhood gardeners
know about... this is actually my mom's garden who has been a
horticulturist, landscape designer, gardening radio talk show host
(predecessor to Walter Reeves on WSB). Her garden is rarely on view
to the public, so this is a treat... The drive is about 35 minutes
from our neighborhood. You can email me if you have questions.

The Locust Grove Woman's Club invites the public to attend "A Spring
Tour of Kathy's Garden" on Saturday, May 7 from 9 am to 4 pm. The
garden is located in Locust Grove at 317 Leguin Mill Road with parking
at 331 Leguin Mill Road. The garden is designed around a home and
barns built in the late 1800's; Kathy grew up in this home. Now she
lives there with her husband. The Woman's Club will be serving
lemonade and cookies. Artist Nan McGarity will be painting in the
garden and Kathy will be walking around to answer questions. The
landscape garden is a collector's garden, filled with hundreds of
plants, old and new, that Kathy and her husband love. A plant sale in
the garden will feature unique tomato cultivars, annuals and
perennials just to mention a few. llamas, pigmy goats, cats and dogs
are often seen around the homestead. All visitors will receive a free
plant as they leave the garden. A garden experience and a free plant -
what a wonderful Mother’s Day Gift.
An entrance fee of $5.00 benefits the many community projects of the
Locust Grove Woman's Club which was organized in 1914.
