Happy Hump Day! Time to think about those weekend plans... Keep it local by going to GardenHood's Good Food Festival, May 1
Celebrate home food production at Garden*Hood’s Good Food Festival on Saturday, May 1, 11am – 3pm. Longtime organic gardening advocate Vanessa Vadim will offer insights into successful crop cultivation sans chemicals. Artichoke Bliss, a food cart that uses regionally sourced, farm fresh and seasonal products, will be on site sampling and selling their special kind of street food. Annie Laurie's Sweets and Treats, specializing in locally sourced and organically made baked goods, will also share the love. They've just gotten in some beautiful, organic, heirloom tomato plants! You won't find these anywhere else!

Garden*Hood is also on the Urban Coop Tour on the same day, so there will be experts on raising city chickens (and collecting farm fresh eggs). Plus, a beekeeper will talk honey (and bees). Harvest Montessori, a new urban farm school near East Atlanta Village, will do activities for the kids to help them learn how to grow right and eat well. Garden*Hood will help you get growing and eating right with a chance to win a tray of vegetable plants, a bag of produce or a Dynamic Dish gift certificate.

Upcoming:
Are you a State Employee? Need to feel appreciated and save a little money?
Come by GardenHood on May 5 for State Employee Appreciation Day and receive a 15% discount for State Employees (State I.D. required).

It's just around the corner, Mother’s Day!
GardenHood will offer a Bouquet Buffet, which will offer you the opportunity to create a botanical bouquet for mom on May 8 and 9, 11am - 2pm. Kids welcome. And, if you show your ticket to the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s 26th Annual Gardens for Connoisseurs Tour, Garden*Hood will give you a 10% discount on plant purchases on May 8 and 9. Don’t have your tickets for the Tour? Purchase your tickets at GardenHood leading up to and during the event.

If you haven't been to GardenHood, head over and support our local, independent garden center with some great, quality plant material. GardenHood is located at 347 Boulevard. www.gardenhoodatlanta.com. Also become their fan on Facebook - they offer updates of newly arriving plant material.
