Macro Recorder is not only a mouse recorder, keyboard recorder and player. It is also a very powerful automation software and even an EXE-compiler. All recorded keystrokes and mouse activity can be saved to disk as a macro (script) for later use, bound to a hotkey, extended with custom commands or even compiled to an EXE file (a standalone Windows application). This macro recording program will save you a lot of time on repetitive tasks. You can use the Macro Recorder to automate ANY activity in ANY windows application, record on-screen tutorials.

I previewed the JITBIT recorder (non lite version) and found this macro recorder to be excellent for my purposes. This utility can be tried for free before purchase. I tried a windows application in which I needed to reproduce repetitive keyboard and mouse input. Good program!

Picture yourself using this neat little macro program, having programmed extensive macros, some of which are used numerous times daily. Loving the program. Then the program suddenly stops inputting clicks or text. Everything you have worked on and devised over 6 or 7 years is useless. Reinstallation makes no difference. It may not even be the fault of their program but . . . emails to jitbit support are ignored.

I am very excited to share that I have decided to review a program on this blog. The program is called Jitbit Macro Recorder, which allows users to automate tasks to help them maximize productivity and save time. Before I start the review, it is important that you know I could not run the program recently, however I did manage to take some screenshots and create a mockup of the actual program. I feel that this will aide in the explanation of the product being reviewed.

First of all, Macro Recorder from Jitbit has many nice features that other programs do not, such as adding logical conditions to a macro, pixel color identification, and partial playing of macros. These are all great features, but the most useful feature that Macro Recorder has to offer is the ability to compile a macro to executable:

The picture above shows the different columns that make up the script to be executed, which includes keyboard functions, mouse movement and execution of files. This may look like it is all fine and dandy, but what if you wanted to run a macro in another program, introducing the compile to executable feature. This feature allows you to create a macro normally and convert it to an application that can be executed by itself, or in another program. No complex coding or having to copy and paste portions of the macro in order to achieve multiple functions. A good example to explain this would be if you wanted to run a custom macro created in Macro Recorder in Powerpoint 2010, just do the following:

Overall Easy Macro Recorder is lightweight, straightforward and easy to understand, but the fact that even in the paid version, there is no way to compile to EXE, makes this program not up to my standards.

Microsoft Word 2010, along with the rest of the Office 2010 suite has a built-in macro recorder, however in the newest version, it is very cumbersome to create a macro unless you know Visual Basic and VBA. As the picture shows below, users must know how to code their actions in VBA,

a scripting language known to developers. For this reason, Macro Recorder from JitBit still is the winner because it integrates nicely with other programs, whereas other programs like Word 2010 do not.
