Dear riders and readers,
please enjoy the attached edition of Sou'Wester Shorts.
but first, the editors (all four of us ride leaders) have noticed that a minority of leaders are not posting reports to the blog, and that the trend, though still in its infancy, is increasing.
We, the editors, feel
this is sad because the blogs form a record for posterity about our club
activities, are an advertisement for new members looking for a non-competitive,
friendly, inclusive cycling club and might provide new ride leaders with
valuable ideas.
So
come on lads and lasses. After you’ve
done all the recceing and catered to those who need an early start and after you have done the change in lunch for people who need
granary bread and no mayo, and after all the fretting on the day that no-one will turn up just because there is a hurricane forecast and then one of your leaders is late, and after having thanked that
group leader who went their own way despite your careful risk avoidance
planning; after all that, one last push to put a record on the blog, even if
it’s only a couple of sentences harvesting the photos on WhatsApp and Strava.
Please.
Paul (and on behalf of the others)
