Hi All
This year we have coming up some tours of our agroforestry project in South
Devon. A great chance to learn about our forest garden, alley cropping &
more (see below), including the challenges we encountered, the successes and
over 50 species of edible or otherwise useful plants.
Here are the details:
Date/time: 9 May, 20 June, 18 July,
10.30-1. – the day after Martin Crawford’s (Agroforestry Research
Trust) Forest Garden workshops. A great opportunity to immerse yourself twice
over in forest gardening & agroforestry.
Location: Discover Forest Foods, Beeson, South Devon.
Cost: £10 booking essential. Perennial kale cuttings to
take away.
An opportunity to see a 3 acre agroforestry project
based on an organic farm in a maritime climate. We have a 1-acre forest
garden & 2 acres of orchards divided by alleys.
Plus windbreaks, large pond, raised beds, living willow fences and composting.
There is a large range of fruit trees and shrubs, plus some other useful
perennials - but main focus is trees. As well as fruit, we have a nut orchard,
native edible/medicinal hedge, wood trees and craft
trees.
Best wishes
