I have a MakerBot and would like to soon start printing more printer
parts. First up I think I'll be making a printruder from here:

Then I might start making Mendel parts.

Has anyone else replicated a printer yet? Is anyone interested in
receiving a set of printed Mendel parts?

I've also got my eye on making parts for a Mendel. I've printed a
handful of parts already unfortunately they tend to warp due to the
width of the pieces. I'd Contribute to someone elses but I'd like to
know they plan on replicating it as well

Ed and I are going to be working on building a Mendel for Hive13
starting after the holidays. We've printed one frame vertex out of
ABS with about 10% infill. I'm thinking about increasing that to
about 20-30% on future parts. Ed managed to order a set of the Gen3
electronics while they were in stock at makerbot.com for our Mendel.
We still need to get the rest of the hardware (nuts, bolts, bearings,
etc.). I'm thinking we will probably order them all at once from
McMaster-Carr.

vxb.com has cheap bearings.  i bought a lot from them and got a really good deal... just FYI.  the mcmaster bearings are pretty spendy.

I've printed enough of these parts for 1 mendel:

circuit-board-bracket
frame-vertex
x-180-z-bearing-plate
x-bar-clamp-m3
x-bar-clamp-m4
x-end-bracket
x-vert-drive-nut-trap
x-vert-drive-side-plate-360-end
y-bar-clamp (10 of these jewels!)
y-bearing-360-outer-left
bed-spring

10% may be enough for many of the parts, but I've upped to 65% infill in order to make sure.  Also, most of the parts will need drilled out because of the extrusion diameter on the surface of the holes.
