Hello Weekly,
Before we get into the pitches, though, we have a couple special issues I want to flag. The first is our
Cannabis Issue, coming up next month. All pitches are available in our special
Cannabis Issue Pitch Doc, so if you're interested in covering the
social equity of cannabis licensing, investigating the
disproportionate impacts of consumption restrictions, or any of our other pitches for the cannabis issue, just check our pitch doc & shoot me an email!
We're also looking for individuals interested in joining teams covering the upcoming elections for State's Attorney, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, or other state/city offices up for election in March. If you're at all interested in any of those, let me know and I'll connect you with the project leads.
And now, some new pitches:
- A review of Washington Park rapper Lyk Se7N's new project, "Outcome," and an interview with the artist
- A new activist group set to address the problem of anti-Blackness in Chinatown
- Fragmented investing from different organizations on the South Side
- A new school planned for Bridgeport
- Some suspicious new projects underway at UChicago's Crime Lab
We're also interested in event coverage of
a Supreme Court judges' forum, coming up on Saturday. These and many more can be found in
our pitch doc. If you see one you want, just send me an email to claim it and I'll connect you with an editor.
-Sam
