Well, since the bible says that Noah did all that the Lord commanded
him, there were 14 of each bird species, 14 of each clean animal
species, 2 of each unclean animal species, and 8 humans (who sometimes
act like animals).
And also, though I don't know if they are technically "animals", the
ark most likely rescued untold millions of tiny creatures such as
insects, bacteria, and other micro-organisms. (Too bad those pesky
mosquitoes didn't miss the boat.)
I guess the fish were on their own, but of course they like floods.
As for plants? Well, God said He was going to "blot out from the face
of the land every living thing that I have made." (Gen. 7:4) But, He
must not have meant plants since they are still with us... unless He
re-created them after blotting them out.
The most remarkable thing to me about the entire story is the fact
that God can be sorry He did something. (Gen. 6:6)
