In the past 6 months I was asked to mentor a young lady, by her
father. I have been very active in this young girls life, praying for
her and trying to give good christian advice. She calls me quite
often with problems, and I always ask God for wisdom on what to say to
her. Recently she had a "what you might say" a downward spiral, I
called her father to see how she was doing, and he updated me. He
called me back 2 minutes later, to ask me for a favor, then proceeded
to ask me NOT to talk about God, or religous things with her. I of
course agreed, because I never wanted to be the type that pushed God
down somebody's throat, and I truly believe that I haven't done this.
What do you do when a Christian doesn't want you to mention God?? I
know that God has brought this young lady into my life for a reason,
and the only way I know how to help her is too listen, pray and love
her. But it's really hard when you know the answer is to turn to him,
and they don't want to hear it. I'm confused on how to really help
this young lady.

Crystal,

You're right, you can't push christianity down someones throught. I
know your frustration, I'm having the similar situation with my friend
I've been talking about. I think the best way we can preach
christianity to them is to live it. Your prayers for her are the most
powerfull thing you can do and being a friend will influence her more
than anything. Hang in there. In my opinion you're doing the best
you can do for her. I know it's hard but maybe they hear more than we
think they do. I hope so.

Randy,
Well the thing is....she is a christian. I know it seems so
obvious that we as Christians should always know when we are hurting
or confused, to go to him first. I know they're have been times in my
christian walk where I didn't turn to him first. I quess it scared me
for her, that she didn't want to hear about God. I know that God will
see her through this. I believe she listening to the lies of the
devil that he doesn't love her or otherwise her situation would be
different. He's real good at getting us to turn from God when things
are going the way we would like them to. I'll pray for your freind,
you pray for mine. thanks Randy
