Hello Everyone,Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Sawyers. We are so grateful for each of you who pray for and give to all the different ministries going on here. It is truly amazing to sit and look at the past year and all that has happened. Currently I am able to waddle without pain and actually was able to wear a shoe yesterday for the first time in 3 weeks! That’s good news because all the guys come back next week and we have a ton of work to do and just two and a half weeks to do it before students start arriving at Mara Christian High School. So many enquirers have been made about the school I’m not sure what we will do when it opens.
Also our 8th grade students did amazing with a 325 mean score on this years big test. So far we are still number one in our zone of schools.
Kweli Kweli ministry is knocking on the door of 20,000 followers and that is so exciting that almost 20,000 people get to hear the word of God taught in their language every week.
Laura and the girls have been super busy with different women’s Bible studies and fellowships. Summers feeding the windows program is taking care of several windows each week now. I am truly amazed and blessed by my daughters and their heart to serve people and be a light for Jesus.
The Children’s home girls are very happy and safe and continue to enjoy just being able to have a childhood and be loved and taught about Jesus.
We just had some recent visitors and dear friends visit for a month and they were talking with one of our church members reminiscing about thier first trip over 12-13 years ago and how the church was only about 13-14 people and now we have over 300 on a normal Sunday. Even with all the workers and boarders gone this past Sunday we still had 200 people in church. The need to expand has never been more urgent than now. Hopefully next year that will happen. We currently have had $500 of the $10k needed for the church expansion. Also the water is now working again thanks to many of you who helped us buy a new pump.
An amazing early Christmas gift from the Lord was given to us last week as He continues to add people to His kingdom. The lady in the picture is Nalalala and she was my good friend Mzee Kiu, who passed recently at 104 years, wife. She has been coming to church for a couple years and ask to speak to me after the service. Her words were beautiful and she told me “God has opened the eyes of my heart and I know thier is no hope without Jesus Christ”. Praise God as He continues to draw people out of the darkness and into His marvelous light!!! Once again thank you for all you do for the Sawyer family and the ministries of SUM in Kenya and around the world.
