Hi everyone, 

Thank you to everyone who came out to "A Taste of Tango" at Cafe Lumina on Saturday night. What a delicious evening and great turnout of over 25 new and experienced dancers. It was fun to see people walking by on the street outside do a double-take and then stop to admire the dancing. (Plus the homemade roasted strawberry gelato was a relevation!) A big thank you DJ Kyle for the music and to the Cafe Lumina crew for hosting us. We're going to keep it going with the next two 4th Saturdays, so save the date for more "Taste of Tango at Cafe Lumina" on Saturday April 25 and May 23 from 7-9pm. 

The Thursday Ashland Practica has been thriving in the larger location at the Grove Gym. Under Kyle's thoughtful leadership and care, turnout has been great and there are often more than 8-10 dancers practicing with each other and building tango community. There are rotating hosts at the door each week to welcome you. I'm hosting tonight and would love to see you there!

Practica is open to anyone who wants to come practice tango in a casual and inclusive atmosphere. Come with a friend or by yourself. We will all dance and learn together. There are rotating hosts who can help get you oriented if it’s your first time.

Special Guest DJ Tejas: Based in Portland, Tejas likes to transport dancers to the heart of the Golden Age with timeless Argentine tango classics, with a hint of late and modern music. His playlists are curated to pull you onto the dance floor, keep you there all evening, and send you home with memories you'll cherish long after La Cumparsita fades. Many southern Oregon folks got to meet and dance with Tejas at Valentango, and we are thrilled to welcome him to visit us in our community.

Come learn to dance Argentine Tango. No partner or experience required to join. If you can walk you can dance tango! The beginner class is perfect for first-time dancers or tango dancers of any level wanting to learn the opposite role or review the fundamentals.

Morgan Lindsay has been dancing tango for over 15 years. She loves sharing the improvisation, musicality, and playful partner connection of Argentine tango with everyone.

8 Week Intermediate Argentine Tango Series
Tuesdays 7:15 – 8:15 pm, March 3 – April 21

Have you taken a few tango lessons, and you’re excited to dive deeper into the world of Argentine Tango? This series will focus on developing the fundamental steps and skills you need to take your dancing to the next level. Class open to everyone interested in taking on a challenge!

Kyle Asher has turned tango into his main passion in life. He focuses on musicality, the basic natural movements, and encouraging students to enjoy the dance.
