Hello all, 

Greetings from Missoula, Montana where I am attending a Tango Facilitator training with Tomás Howlin for the Big Sky Summer Meetup July 3-6. It's been a whirlwind of amazing tango and learning from dedicated community builders. I'm so excited to bring new energy and ideas back to our tango community.

After this I have a family reunion on the east coast, so I'm out of town until July 17. I'm so grateful to Kyle, Tara, and Jazmine who are sharing their amazing tango expertise with you all at Tuesday and Sunday classes while I'm gone. See below for the full schedule of who is teaching when!

1. Evergreen Ballroom: Dan's Class at the Evergreen Ballroom is moving to Tuesdays at 7:45pm for July & August starting this Tuesday, July 7. Contact Dan at with any questions. 

2. Cafe Lumina: There is no tango at Cafe Lumina in July (Morgan and Kyle will both be attending someone else's wedding that weekend!), but "A Taste of Tango returns to Cafe Lumina on the 4th Saturday on August 22.

TUESDAYS: Three Week Tango Series with Guest Teacher Kyle Asher

Cost: $20 drop-in, or $45 for all three classes, sliding scale avail.
No partner required, just bring comfy socks and your sense of adventure!

Come deepen your tango technique with a fun new topic each week. 

Kyle Asher: Kyle has turned Tango into his passion in life. Constantly trying to improve himself, he offers lessons in any topic you’re interested in, but focuses on musicality, basics, the natural movements, and being enjoyment out of the dance from all perspectives. In charge of the Ashland Community Practica, he also DJs, and writes on his own blog about his Tango Travels.

This all-levels class is ideal for you if it's your first day dancing tango or you're an experienced tango dancer. The flexible, self-paced schedule means you can start any week and attend either or both labs. The unique one-on-one format lets you move through the tango fundamentals at your own pace and attend class as frequently as you like without missing any material. No partner required.

Tara Laidlaw has been a professional educator for over a decade, teaching in a wide array of disciplines from K-12 science to classical ballet. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University in anthropology and dance, and a master’s degree from Hamline University in natural science and environmental education. Tara specializes in teaching close embrace, so bring her your questions!

Cost: $20 drop-in, or $60 for a 4 class pass good for 3 months, sliding scale avail.

Practica is open to anyone who wants to come practice tango in a casual and inclusive atmosphere. Come with a friend or by yourself. We will all dance and learn together. There are rotating hosts who can help get you oriented if it’s your first time.
