Tango at Annex Dance Passport Week, Wed July 29 at 5:45pm

Hello all, 

I'm out of town at a family wedding this weekend, so a huge thank you to Tara for hosting a special drop-in Practica Open House during my usual class at the Annex Dance Studio this Sunday, July 26 from 3-5pm. Tara's many areas of expertise include close embrace and getting experimental about unexpected combinations. Do yourself a favor and go pick her talented & experienced tango brain! 

There is no tango at Cafe Lumina in July (Morgan and Kyle are both attending someone else's wedding this weekend). So "A Taste of Tango" returns to Cafe Lumina on the 4th Saturday on August 22. Follow the link to help spread the word about this fun event on facebook. 

Finally, it's time to grow the tango community! I'm very excited to partner with Tess Gunderson at the Annex Dance Studio to share a Beginner Argentine Tango Class this coming Wed, July 29 from 5:45 - 6:30pm. Please help more people find tango by sharing the facebook event, and inviting your tango curious friends to come check it out! You can also explore other dance styles all week at the Annex Dance Studio July 27-31 for just $30.

Tara Laidlaw has been a professional educator for over a decade, teaching in a wide array of disciplines from K-12 science to classical ballet. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University in anthropology and dance, and a master’s degree from Hamline University in natural science and environmental education. Tara specializes in teaching close embrace, so bring her your questions!

Cost: $20 drop-in, or $60 for a 4 class pass good for 3 months, sliding scale avail.

Come experience Cafe Lumina, the delightful Italian restaurant on the plaza in Ashland. They have a beautiful hardwood floor, absolutely delicious food and desserts, and are excited to host social dance events. Bring your friends to come see what Cafe Lumina and Argentine Tango are all about!

Practica is open to anyone who wants to come practice tango in a casual and inclusive atmosphere. Come with a friend or by yourself. We will all dance and learn together. There are rotating hosts who can help get you oriented if it’s your first time.
