Looking for Sponsors/Volunteers

Hey all --

We are back into the planning stages of the event and we are looking for some sponsors.

We need the following:

  * Logo & Website creation (with an RSVP system)

  * Door Prizes

  * People to help spread the word.

  * Volunteers for setup/during/teardown of the event.

We have a twitter account setup @si_hack, so if you have a twitter account please follow it so we can start generating interest here in the next week or so (once we land a logo and a site filled with event details)

Currently we are shooting for a 12 hour event on a Saturday in Oct. Dates are still being finalized as we work out the venue for the event.

I could do the logo. Here is my initial idea. I get that it's not really breaking any new ground in the OpenHack design space, nor is it award winning by any stretch of the imagination, but I thought it might work for our purposes. I'd love to hear feedback.

I love them both. But we need to shy away from using "Open Hack" so
it's not confused with Yahoos Open Hack (which I am also affiliated
with). I'm going to try & get a Yahoo sponsorship, but I want it small
so the local sponsors get more credit :)

SI Hack would work tho.

If you guys want any ideas of other logos I have probably 10-15 yahoo
hack day shirts that I can photograph as reference points.

I do like the second one more than the first.

My idea (if anyone wants to draw it up) is:

The bottom of the state with a pair of the black "geek" glasses around
it. With the words "Get your" above it & Hack On in the lens.

A couple of more options. I really like Josh's idea and wanted to try a variant... not sure how it turned out. Using the word "hack" in a variation of the slash-state logo seems to work.

I think that there was more strength with the simplicity of Josh's version. Adding the texture & background image also makes it less versatile to function as a logo. But it is always good to just get the ideas out and explore the options.
