Just thought you should all also now that one month has elapsed since I wrote to southern criticising various aspects of the service and they still haven't written a reply. They really don't care about the service, how we feel (despite the huge fees) and how to improve it.

His is a shameless electioneering ploy!!! I started to work my way through his questionnaire only to discover that he was effectively asking us to vote for him with the promise that he would do something about the rail service or rather, lack of it. If he can be brought on board then all well and good but my greatest fear is that all these guys will say anything that will get them a few extra votes. Does he have any clout? I really don't know.

I just thought I would follow up from a point I rasied at a meeting
with the group's managers on Sunday 29/3. The leaflet /
questionannire that was being handed out at Eastbourne station during
that week was asking questions around the quality of the service and
personal train usage etc. Of more interest though was the apparent
joint campaigning for express train services Mr Stephen Llloyd, Lib
Dem parliamentary Campaigner, is undertaking with Norman Baker MP.
Does anyone know about these joint efforts? Does anyone know Stephen
Lloyd? Do we need to get in contact with him to bring his plans in
line with ours re this very hot topic?

If you really want someone to take note of your complaints about the Southern service to its customers, or rather lack of it, you need to copy your letters to the Minister of State for Transport, Lord Adonis, as well as to your local MPs. There really is not much point in involving people who are not actually Members of Parliament. If you have already written to Southern and not received a reply then forward a copy to the Minister and your MP.
regards
Valerie
