To: Members of the SE District Working Group, Streetcar System Plan

The Streetcar Advisory Committee(SAC) has been working on the next draft of the citywide Streetcar System Plan, which will be first presented at the Southeast Open House on May 5, Franklin High Cafeteria , 4-7 PM

PLEASE FIND the  following New Files ON THE GOOGLE GROUP SITE

  1. Notice of May Open Houses
  2. SE District Working  Group Final Report
  3. Appendix to the SE Final Report

http://groups.google.com/group/southeastpdxstreetcar?hl=en

Bob, Darrick and I  presented the SE District Working Group  recommendations to the SAC in January.

At this point, the next draft plan to be presented at the Open Houses is not available.

After the May 5 Open House in Southeast, we may convene the District Working Group to review the Next Draft plan, so we can provide further input to the Streetcar Advisory Committee.

I hope to see all of you at the Open House.

Yours Richard Ross, for the SE District Working Group

STATUS OF Streetcar System Plan

At the Feb 25 SAC Meeting,  a February 10 SAC Draft map showed the following proposed lines in Southeast:

  • Sandy Blvd
  • Foster Rd
  • Belmont Connector to Stark Washington
  • River Crossing by Morrison or Hawthorne Bridges
  • Either Hawthorne or Belmont to 50th
  • 82nd Ave
Its not clear if the SAC sees this set of lines as a 30 year system or just the most promising lines.  The SAC has a meeting set for May 1-3 PM at Metro.

At the Feb 25 SAC  meeting, I  asked the SAC to also add the Woodstock Connector from Bybee to 39th along with Woodstock ( 39th to Lents), and to prioritize the lines in 10, 20, and 30 year phases.
For more information check out the PDOT website  http://www.portlandonline.com/transportation/

In January the SAC requested that the District Working Group prioritize recommended lines. Here are the  10, 20, and 30 year lines and phases the DWG recommended after the January SAC presentation, consistent with the DWG Final Report.
