Hi,

Just wondering if there are any plans for physical computing being added to the Code Club Projects.

With MicroBit, Crumble, CodeBug, Arduino and Raspberry Pi (I'm sure there are more)  becoming more familiar to children are there any plans for Code Club to do a course in Physical Computing.

Last year I introduced some Arduino after starting with Scratch.
This year as the kids I had in the club were already doing Scratch as part of the new curriculum I did and Arduino Robot project with them.

Just wondering if Code Code is sticking 100% with Code or if this is something being considered.

Here's a Link to 2 Guides I did for the Club for Arduino: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B23BvTk93HRYZS1DTVRWaC1QN2s&usp=sharing

Thanks,
Albert.

There are some projects for the Tech will Save Us gamer kits here http://projects.codeclub.org.uk/en-GB/14_twsu_01/index.html in the 'Projects from our partners' section. I'm checking to see whether there will be more, will report back when I hear.

We were at the BBC launch yesterday and I wouldn't be surprised if there was something for the Micro Bit at some stage, although it's the KS3.

Personally I'd like to see more physical computing as I've got an Arduino and have a vague idea how to use it :) Raspberry Pi will be on order soon.

I'm in the process of convincing my PTA to buy me the parts to make some weather stations for the Raspberry Pi's. http://airpi.es/index.php

It seems to be good project as it has a good cross over between coding and physical world with real time results that can tie into the curicculum

I've done some work with Arduino for an After School Club:

Details at this link.
I also used the Arduino to make Robots.

There are a few follow up blog posts as well.

Albert.

I've been told there are Pi projects, picoboards and micro:bit coming soon, they've been scheduled for this quarter.

Also, the BBC are giving us 20,000 micro:bits for clubs! Details on the CC blog http://blog.codeclub.org.uk/2015/07/09/bbc-microbit-launches-in-london/

and Arduino and Makey Makey later in the year.
