Hi all,
I've just started working for Code Club as a regional co-ordinator for the South East, I've only been in post a week and a half but I'm really enjoying it!
I'm here to build awareness of Code Club across the region with schools and community spaces, help bring in more volunteers, and support existing volunteers. I thought I'd drop a post on here to say hello and let you know I'm here to help if I can so get in touch if you think I can.
A little bit about me: My background is in community fundraising and community engagement so I've worked a lot with schools and community groups. I got a ZX81 when I was 12 and was often found playing Elite and copying BASIC from magazines. I trained as an artist subsequently and use Pure Data (a visual programming language for audio) and build my own audio controllers out of Arduinos with varying degrees of success.
I'm trying to set up a club at my daughter's school which I'll be volunteering at so any hints much appreciated - I saw Matthew T's post earlier which has some great ideas which I'll be using when I get it all sorted.
Anyway, just wanted to say hello and do get in touch on the board, or via southeast [at] codeclub [dot] org [dot] uk
All the best, hope to hear from you soon.
Dan
